I'm Still Here

I'm just posting a quick journal entry in order to give a quick update on my statues. I've been almost completely inactive for the past month. Part of the reason for my inactivity is that I'm busy. Finding a full-time job has become my full-time job. I currently have a part-time job, but I have no benefits and I don't make enough money to move out of my parents house. However, the job market looks even worse than I thought it would be. There's much competition and employers are demanding so much that I feel like I'll never find anything.

Another problem is that I've lost interest in DA and art in general. I have no idea why because just two months ago I was pretty active, bent on making new friends, and interested in improving my art. Now? I don't care. I feel bad because I felt like I was starting to get close to some of my watchers, but I just can't muster up any enthusiasm for the community. I'm so sorry if this has hurt anyone's feelings. I have Friday and Saturday off. I'm going to use that time to finish up an art trade. Then I'm going to start working on a request. After those two pictures are done, I don't know what I'll do. I noticed that some of my watchers have de-watched me. I can't say I blame them. I honestly don't know if I'm going to post any new art after the pictures I promised/owe are finished.

I'm sorry you feel that way. It's okay to take a break from these things, no one will blame you for it, but I think it would be such a shame if you stopped all together. You're a nice person and I enjoy your art.

Keep searching, I'm sure something will come up eventually.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'd hate to leave DA completely, which why I didn't write a "I'M LEAVING DA 4VER!!" journal entry. Even if I don't draw any new art, I'd at least like to stay in touch with people. However, I think my job woes are making it harder for me to stall involved with the community. Still, I don't want to fall off the face of the Internet.

It's understandable that your job search makes it difficult to stay involved. I'm glad to hear you're not planning on disappearing entirely, though.

We all have slumps, and I know -acutely- how you feel on the job front right now, but I love your art, and I'd hate to see you give up.

(And I dunno what people're doin', unwatching you, I only do that after a year of inactivity or a chronic lack of reciprocation.)

Thanks you for the support. Yeah, hopefully I'll get out of this slump soon. I'm going to get my part of the trade done by the end of the week even if it kills. O_O

I tend to de-watch people if their art no longer interest me for whatever reason or if they make unapologetic jackasses of themselves. But, yes, if some one has been completely inactive for a year, the chances of them posting art again are very slim.

Hey! I'm sorry that finding a job has been difficult. I'm a bit worried myself if I'll find something good next year when I graduate.

Don't worry about your artist's block. I think a lot of people go through waves of artistic drive (I know I have!), so this probably isn't permanent. Don't worry about having to make art for the masses - do it for your own sake. So if you're not feeling it, you're not feeling it.

I need to get back into the art swing myself - it's been a long drought! Maybe we should do that collab sometime?
